Beaux Chapeaux or beautiful hat, a pre-polo event has just been announced to take place on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 3 to 5 pm at Point Clear’s Grand Hotel Marriott Azalea Ballroom. Beaux Chapeaux is an exclusive hat show where attendees will have an opportunity to purchase a one-of-a kind designer hat from well-known Christine Moore of New York for this year’s Polo at the Point event. Christine A. Moore designs each hat with attention to detail, and her staff of artists create each design by hand in her Manhattan studio in the heart of the famous fashion district. Christine uses fine velour felt, straw, and a variety of luxurious silks. Her hats have been featured in Harper's Bazaar, Allure, and Marie Claire, as well as on the heads of celebrities like Halle Berry, Cynthia Nixon, and Vickie Winans. Churchill Downs commissioned Christine to design hats for Jeff William's official 2009 Kentucky Derby painting.
This year’s Polo at the Point is scheduled for Sunday, October 16 at Sonny Hill-Clearwater Polo complex in Point Clear. The Gulf Coast’s most prestigious charity sporting event has designated Mercy Medical’s Guardian Angel program and Thomas Hospital's Pediatric Rehabilitation Program as main beneficiaries. Proceeds of Beaux Chapeaux will also benefit these programs.
