On Sunday, October 2, 2011, Point Clear Charities is hosting Beaux Chapeaux, an exclusive hat show and pre-Polo at the Point event. This year’s event will showcase New York’s hottest hat designer, Christine Moore, who has promised over 75 of the latest fashion chapeaus and fascinators. The event is planned from 3 to 5 pm at Point Clear’s Grand Hotel Marriott Azalea Ballroom, where ladies will be able to view the latest in hat couture on the runway. Donna Wilhelm, vice president of marketing of Mercy Medical, and Lisa White, proprietor of CK Collections in downtown Fairhope are co-chairs of the event.
From the explosive Kentucky Derby hats to regular hip street wear, Christine A. Moore loves hats. Moore Millinery does it all fabulously for both women and men. Moore’s hats have been part of the official Kentucky Derby artwork and for two years in a row, the Today Show has called Moore the “milliner of the Triple Crown”. Moore developed her talent and love of the art of millinery in the theatre. Her hats have been featured in many publications including Harper’s Bazaar, Allure Magazine, Marie Claire, and the New York Post and have been seen on Gossip Girl, Martha Stewart and the Kentucky Derby. Moore’s following of celebrities that wear her hats include Cynthia Nixon, Halle Berry, and Diane Keaton, among others.
“It’s a huge deal to have New York’s Christine Moore featured at this year’s event. She has been making news and trends in the chapeaux world for a long time and has donated a fabulous hat for raffle worth $925 in the spirit of the cause. This year we have asked local ladies to model the hats down a runway, sure to be loads of fun. It is such a big year for hats because of the royal wedding and great way to anticipate Polo at the Point with the latest fashions from New York,” stated Wilhelm.
The year’s Polo at the Point is scheduled for Sunday, October 16 at Sonny Hill-Clearwater Polo Complex in Point Clear. The Gulf coast’s most prestigious charity sporting event has designated Mercy Medical’s Guardian Angel program and Thomas Hospital’s Pediatric Rehab as the main beneficiaries.
