The Locust Fork Band
The Locust Fork Band was formed in 1974 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Primarily playing Southern rock by bands such as the Allman Brothers and Marshall Tucker, LFB was soon a crowd favorite. As time went on, personnel changes brought new styles to the band and their popularity grew. With the exception of a hiatus in the mid 80’s, the band has performed ever since, carving out a unique place on the musical landscape. Today, early veterans of the band like Nida Threet, Bill Marshall, Kent Peterson, Dwight Williams and Rick Byrd continue to play. They have been joined by Robert Churchill (of Telluride fame) on drums and Robert O’neal (who played with Roadside Attraction) on keyboards. When Locust Fork plays, you can always expect a very high level of musicianship, singing, and most importantly, fun!
The Modern Eldorados
Tyron (Gretsch) Lyles seduces his audience with his down home sultry vocals, hypnotic rhythms, nudie suits and Elvis style haircut. Comprised of lead guitarist Monte Tredway, bassist Bruce Nystrom and drummer Jason Bagwell, The Modern Eldorados formed in Mobile, Alabama in 1996 as a vehicle for Lyles’ original rockabilly / traditional – alternative country songs. When you think of a honky tonk with jukeboxes, hardwood floors and a harmonic band with talent and charisma reminiscent of Roy Orbison, Tyron Lyles and The Modern Eldorados come to mind. Everything from their clothing to their guitars is authentic, again preserving the tradition and authenticity of the influences from which they are schooled. So see The Modern Eldorados and soak up some Alabama honky tonk tradition.
